Empowering Family Well-Being

Mission
To provide a single place where families can get help with everyday needs like housing, food, mental health support, legal questions, finding a job, parenting guidance, and early childhood resources

Guiding principles
This Family Resource Center was created to be a strong, welcoming anchor in the community, shaped directly by the voices of Minneapolis and surrounding communities families. Built on the values of equity, access, and respect, it offers a safe place where families feel supported, heard, and encouraged to thrive
Equity / DEI commitments
We focus on providing support that reflects families’ cultures and experiences, encourages family leadership, and keeps services easy to access. Help is available in English, Somali, Arabic, and other languages, and the approach is designed to be respectful, family centered, and strengths based.
Founding Year & History
This Family Resource Center was developed through a Hennepin County initiative and shaped by a 2025 community needs assessment conducted with local families and supported by a variety of non-profit organizations serving the community. It is additionally supported by a statewide effort launched in 2022, funded by the Sauer Family Foundation and Casey Family Programs, and implemented through Wilder Research.
